- Introduction
-
Marathon Petroleum offers an Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Plan that provides a measure of financial protection if you or a covered dependent die or suffer severe bodily injury as a result of an accident. We provide a basic AD&D benefit at no cost to you, and you can buy additional optional AD&D coverage for you and your family.
We also provide separate coverage in the event that you die in an accident while at work or performing Company duties. The Occupational Accidental Death Benefit (OAD) Plan is provided at no cost to you
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Overview
-
AD&D coverage provides protection for death or bodily loss due to an accident. Marathon Petroleum provides a basic AD&D benefit of two times your covered compensation, rounded to the nearest $1,000 (maximum $1,500,000). You don’t have to enroll – the coverage is automatic – but you do need to designate a beneficiary to receive the benefit in the event of your death.
You may purchase Optional Employee AD&D coverage for yourself in increments of $25,000 to a maximum of $250,000. You may also elect Optional Spouse AD&D coverage in increments of $25,000 to a maximum of $250,000 and optional child AD&D in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $30,000. One Optional Child AD&D premium covers all eligible dependent children.
- AD&D Contributions
-
Monthly contribution amounts are for regular full-time and regular part-time employees.
- Occupational Accidental Death (OAD)
-
Your beneficiary will receive an OAD benefit if you die while performing duties for the Company. The plan benefit is the greater of $500,000 or two times your annual gross annual pay (to a maximum of $1,500,000). You designate a beneficiary to receive the benefit payable under the plan.
